Source: the Texas Secretary of State's early-voting rosters and county turnout totals (goelect.txelections.civixapps.com) for 2026, and the SOS's official early-voting turnout by date for the 2020, 2022 and 2024 generals (earlyvoting.texas-election.com). Counts are early ballots that counties have uploaded to the SOS through the as-of date.
Where 2026 stands
Cumulative ballots by day
Each line is the running total of early ballots by days before Election Day. Texas elections fall on a Tuesday, and early voting in person runs from the Monday 15 days out to the Friday 4 days out in 2022, 2024 and 2026, so the same day count lands on the same weekday each cycle. Mail ballots are counted from about three weeks out. Past cycles run to the last day of early voting; 2026 stops at the as-of day.

2026 vs 2022 and 2024 at the same day
Every count is cumulative through days before each Election Day. The 2022 midterm is the like-for-like comparison; 2024 was a presidential year with higher turnout. Past cycles are the SOS's official final counts for each day, while 2026 is what counties have uploaded so far, so a county that is slow to upload looks low until it catches up.

Early ballots divided by registered voters, per 100,000 of them, so areas of different size can be compared. 2026 divides by today's registration; 2022 and 2024 divide by the registration the SOS reported for that election. Texas has no party registration, so this compares places, not parties.
