Sources: the New York State Board of Elections' county early-voting counts (2022, 2024 and 2020 compiled day by day by cinycmaps.com from the Board's releases), the New York City Board of Elections' nightly early-voting check-ins by borough, and the State Board's county enrollment statistics by party. The counts are early in-person voters only. New York publishes no statewide daily count of absentee or early mail ballots, so mail voting isn't here.
Where 2026 stands
Early votes by early-voting day
New York's early voting runs nine days, from the Saturday ten days before Election Day through the Sunday two days before: Oct 24 to Nov 1 in 2026, the same calendar days as 2020. Since every general election falls on a Tuesday, day n is the same weekday and the same number of days before Election Day in each cycle. 2022 was the last midterm; 2024 and 2020 were presidential years.

Per 100,000 enrolled, by party enrollment
New York enrolls voters by party, but neither the State Board nor the city reports the party of early voters. So this section groups the 62 counties by how Democratic or Republican their enrolled voters are (Democrats' share minus Republicans' share of active enrollment, Feb 2026) and compares early votes per 100,000 enrolled voters in each group with the same day in past cycles. A group running hot means its counties are voting early at a higher rate, not that a party is.
Who is enrolled
Active enrolled voters by party in the selected geography, from the State Board's county enrollment reports. "Blank" is voters enrolled in no party. In the bars, "Other parties" adds up the Conservative, Working Families and smaller parties, which the table shows separately.
Early votes per 100,000 enrolled
Early votes so far divided by active enrolled voters in the same county, per 100,000 of them, so counties of very different size can be compared. Each 2026 dot sits beside the same county's 2022, 2024 and 2020 figures at the same early-voting day, each divided by that year's Nov 1 enrollment. New York City boroughs
Each borough is a county: Manhattan is New York County, Brooklyn is Kings, Staten Island is Richmond. The city's Board of Elections posts each borough's check-ins at the close of polls every early-voting night.
