Douglas County only. Nebraska's Secretary of State publishes no early-vote counts, but the Douglas County Election Commission (Omaha and its suburbs, about 29% of Nebraska's registered voters) posts a list of every early ballot it receives, each night. This site counts those lists: ballots returned by mail, drop box or in person at the Election Commission before Election Day, by party, legislative district and precinct, against the 2024 general at the same number of days before the election.
Source: the Douglas County Election Commission's early-voting lists (returned and mailed ballots, posted daily), its registration counts by precinct and party, and the Nebraska Secretary of State's October registration statistics. 2024 uses the same daily lists as saved by the Internet Archive. Final 2022 and 2024 early votes come from the Secretary of State's canvass books.

Return rate by party
Each party's cumulative share of early ballots returned: 2026 so far vs 2024, same day
Share of all early ballots returned through each day (cumulative, not that day alone), against the same number of days before Election Day in 2024. "± pts" is 2026 minus 2024: read down a column to see how each party's share is shifting day to day. The margin is Democratic minus Republican in points of all ballots so far, and "Shift" is 2026's margin minus 2024's: D +2.0 means 2 points more Democratic than 2024. The first few days of returns, too few to give steady shares, are left out.
