Idaho votes early two ways. Any registered voter can ask for an absentee ballot and return it by mail or drop box (it has to reach the county clerk by 8 PM on Election Day), and every county runs early in-person voting before Election Day: see the dates below. This site tracks absentee ballots issued and returned and early in-person votes from the Secretary of State's daily absentee tracker. Idaho registers voters by party: Republican, Democratic, Unaffiliated, and two small parties (Constitution and Libertarian).
Source: the Idaho Secretary of State's absentee and early voting tracker (county and legislative district × party, updated most mornings). Earlier 2026 days come from every version of the tracker's charts that the SOS published. Past cycles: the SOS's own chart of absentee ballots issued by days before Election Day in 2022 and 2024. Registered voters: the SOS's October registration totals.

Turnout so far by party
Each party's cumulative share of ballots cast: 2026 so far
Share of all ballots cast (absentee returned plus early in person) through each day the SOS reloaded its numbers (cumulative, not that day alone). The margin is Republican minus Democratic, in points of all ballots cast so far. The SOS doesn't publish 2022 or 2024 ballots by party by day, so there's no same-day comparison. Read down a column to see how each party's share is shifting day to day.
Who's voting, per 100,000 registered voters
Ballots cast so far (absentee returned plus early in person) ÷ registered voters in the same party in October 2026, per 100,000 of them, so groups of very different size can be compared.
The bar runs from 0.5× (left) to 2× (right) of the rate for all registered voters, on a log scale, with the tick at 1×.
By age (statewide)
Share of ballots cast so far, by age
The SOS publishes age groups for the whole state only, and registration totals don't break out age, so there's no rate per registered voter here.
